Kei's Ninth Death
He came in like a LION......and out like a lamb.[Kei's Final Death]-/-He didn't see it coming...he had let his guard down utterly and miserably, leading to a swift downfall."Shik-..!"
At point blank the bullet smashed it's way through Kei's skull, fracturing the bone as it showed no mercy going through, painting the back seat of the car a darkened crimson color... his body sat upright for a mere moment before his jaw hung loose, the rest of him going limp as his head hung downward, drops landing in his lap as death welcomed him back once more like an old friend.
He remembered little pain past the initial impact before everything had become dark... he hadn't even had time to show an ounce of fear at the moment in which had terrified him ever since his curse, death after death, and after every drop of blood that he had shed in the last four-plus years.
To date, Kei doesn't remember the nature of his death due to how the injury had occurred. He doesn't remember the driver's face, the last words he had spoken... not even seeing his friend present reach the same fate moments after
However, he does remember a presence being felt, oddly, as well as what happened next.
Kei's Eighth Death
The street lights were dimmed as the evening had given way to the pitch black surroundings of night, the city streets quieted to the subtle hum of a handful of passing cars. However, it wasn't here, among the lingering activity that the rouge found himself. Far from it, as long as he had anything to say about it.
It was in the rundown neighborhoods and side streets that he found himself instead, walking through the back alleyways. As he walked, the scent of blood followed him, some his, some from a foreign source. His hand being clamped tightly over his side, Kei walked slowly... whatever he had partaken in that night, there was crimson slipping between his fingers where he held the wound. If he waited any longer to get home, it wasn't going to matter if he bled out on the pavement.
-
He wasn't alone, nor did he go unnoticed.
From the same alleyway hid a beast, unaware to Kei's presence just as he was to it's. The canine was tall at the shoulder, pitch black other than the markings well known to it's breed. It's dark eyes had locked onto Kei as the scent of blood wafted from his figure... it wasn't until the canine let out a deep bark from it's chest that he was aware of it's presence himself.
-
"...Shit."
Kei paused whether he wanted to or not, hunched over some as he accommodated his wound. By the way it was spreading outwards, perhaps it was the entry point of a bullet, or a stab wound... either way, every minute it was posing a greater and greater threat.
His ears flattened now, as his train of thought was interrupted by the canine before him, proving him wrong.
Fuck. He had much bigger problems at hand.
Anxiety came off him in waves, likely doing little to improve his situation.
Kei really didn't like dogs. Not one bit, and he never had.Hmm I wonder why.
"Shoo! Fucking get out of here!"
He shouted at the canine, hoping to startle him off in the very least.
Kei, you idiot. I'm sure that'll work.
-
The dog might have let the rouge pass without so much as a snap… until, of course, he started to yell...
The felidae ran, the canidae charged:
Suddenly Kei found himself on the ground as he had tried to run, though the beast was far quicker. He felt the canine tear into his leg savagely and gave a cry of pain, attempting to fight him off from his compromised stance. With each attempt however he found himself losing more and more blood, pouring from his new-found injury, let alone the wound he had walked in with. His head had started to spin as he became light headed, his movements more and more disoriented as the blood loss took it's effect on him.
Still the canine's assault had yet to cease, a cry of pain coming from Kei as the once irritating injury was now inflamed with agony as the brute bit down upon it.
Slowly, little by little, Kei's body was shutting down on him.
He felt his arms and legs less eager to assist him in his defense, his vision blurring until it would become practically none... His once pounding heart had slowed it's pulse to a steady halt as the blood around him pooled thicker and thicker, and he found himself as a meal to just another hungry dog on the street.
Kei's Seventh Death
"GGRRAAWWWWWRRRRRRRR..."
What is that sound, one might ask?
That is the sound of a pissed off monster.
The trees in which Kei had walked through on his way home to the theatre had been calm until the ground started to shake... his ears twitched some, and upon glancing back, they flattened against his skull.
The behemoth stood at a striking 8'5'', helmet and weapon present, the outline of his body glowing a dim red. Beneath him the grass rotted and curled in on itself as it turned sickly.Thump thump thump...and it was CHARGING towards Kei.Kei knew little of what, or WHY for that matter, but he was RUNNING.
Not bothering to look back he found himself at full sprint, though as he moved, the brute of a demon moved deceivingly fast despite its massive size. A sense of dread came over him, the closer he reached the rouge, he couldn't quite explain it... he only knew standing still right about now would lead to a road he didn't particularly want to go down.
Kei heard a wind coming towards him from behind, ears flicking... yet the surroundings were still, and had been for the last couple hours. When he glanced back, the brute's monstrous weapon had been swung at him, destined to cut him in half if he didn't move. Before he could think to act otherwise, the rouge ducked as the massive butcher's knife went just above his head, a 'CRACK' heard as it embedded itself into a tree ahead of him...
Kei didn't have to look back to know the monster was gaining on him.Suddenly, it seemed the brute caught onto the slowness of his prey and came in angry and fast. He steps down on Kei's foot to keep him there ultimately crushing the bone and muscle. Snarling he is reaching down towards Kei to snag at his hair and scalp, to try and lift him up off the ground.Kei gave a cry of pain as his foot was crushed, thrashing about as he felt the tugging on his hair and skull, though it was no use. As his head was pulled upwards he felt fear- and not the cheap kind he had made for himself over the years.Kei's foot remained under Anubis' own, pulling him upright completely as the monster's chipped nails were felt digging into the lower part of his head. The brute grasped onto the first two spinal connections and then begins tugging, ripping the connection to the head and ripping the skin as his spine would start to give.As his nails dug in Kei gave a hiss of pain, and it only escalated from there. They soon turned into cries of pain, and as his spinal column began to give in, they were horrific, blood curdling screams. When his spinal cord had split with a wet, sickened ripping noise, it left his muscles spasming where the rest of him now hung from the monster's hand. His screams would dwindle out into weak whimpers, until his jaw hung freely and the rest of his body made no further efforts to move.
Due to the nature of Kei's seventh death, it was the one that proved most time consuming to heal from, leaving him there for hours. Aside from leaving massive scarring down his back, it also became another source of his nightmares.
Kei's Sixth Death
The rouge's ears would twitch as they listened to quiet footsteps far off, from some unseen source. As he walked through the theatre to inspect he was quiet as a ghost, hood pulled over his head as it was on most occasions. He stood upon the balcony on the opposite side of the theatre, the darkness blanketing his presence, for now.
The woman stood in the theatre's main hall, the felines around her meowling and carrying on at the prospect of getting attention from this newcomer, although she paid no attention. Wearing a trench coat that fell to her knees, the woman looked to be in her late twenties, just as he himself had been. Her hair was a black as that of a raven's wings, eyes blue.
"Quite a place to find yourself in, this late at night."
Kei remembers stating as he stepped out, a knife in hand... he had decided that regardless of whether she would run or not, he would get rid of her just as he did to any others that had walked upon his old, rundown domain.
Much to his surprise, the woman hadn't moved other than to match her steps forward with her own backward. She peered at the knife in his hand and looked back to where his eyes should have been.
"Funny, I expected a janitor." She muttered, not answering his question with some dry humor.
Such an attitude... no one had ever given him that. Most humans would have run at this point...so be it.
At that, the demon came forward at a much quicker rate, threatening to put the knife through her.
Much to his surprise, of all the scenarios that he had played out in his head, the end result hardly was one of them. He peered back in surprise as the woman took the stab, her eyes squeezed shut and her teeth clenched in pain... a frown spread across her face. As her eyes opened to a crimson color, hand jerking his away, as well as the knife.
Kei remembered the woman's words distinctly.
"I don't fear death..."
"Because as far as I know, I cant die."
Her hand suddenly grasped the demon's throat like a vise, strength he hadn't expected from the 'human' he had once taken her for. Those crimson eyes stared him down once more before he was thrown, hitting the ground with a sickening 'crack' soon to follow.
A while after the demon woke up after his life had been taken, an aching pain in his back as the rest of him worked to heal. Holding his head he grunted. Eventually, he would see her hugging her knees and covering her face where she had once stood. A low snicker came from Kei, turning almost to laughter as his voice echoes out in a much more hospitable tone.
"You and I... we aren't too different, are we...
although as far as I know, I can't stop dying."
